Pool Filter Maintenance
Filters ask to be cleaned through the pressure gauge. Learn your clean baseline and maintenance becomes a simple, reliable signal instead of guesswork.
Clean or backwash when pressure rises 8 to 10 psi above the clean baseline. Cleaning too often wastes water and effort; waiting too long leaves water hazy and strains the pump.
Each filter type has its own routine: rinse and periodically soak cartridges, backwash sand and DE, and replace media on its own longer cycle. Match the routine to your filter and the rest of pool care gets easier.
