Single-Speed Pool Pumps
Single-speed pumps are simple and inexpensive up front. They run at one flow rate, which makes them straightforward but less efficient than variable-speed alternatives.
For a small pool, a short season, or a tight budget, a single-speed pump can be the practical choice. The trade-off is higher running cost and more noise than a variable-speed unit.
Before buying, check whether local rules require variable-speed for your pool size, since some regions have phased out single-speed installs.
