Pool maintenance
A pool that turns green or cloudy is almost always a pool that skipped the basics for a week. Ten minutes of testing and cleaning on a rhythm prevents nearly every problem that would otherwise cost you a weekend.
The weekly rhythm
Test chlorine and pH a couple of times a week and adjust before they drift far. Run the pump long enough for at least one full turnover a day. Empty baskets, brush walls, and skim the surface. Clean or backwash the filter when pressure rises 8 to 10 psi over its clean baseline.
Why routine beats rescue
A pool that never loses its chlorine residual almost never turns green. A filter cleaned on pressure never causes lingering haze. The habits are small; skipping them is what turns into a weekend of shocking and brushing.
